The Hug

This serigraph depicts a minimal yet striking portrait of the artist, John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, embraced in a hug. In 1986, Yoko Ono Lennon felt that it was important to release a selected group of John's artwork as numbered limited edition prints to re-establish his importance in the art world. This print was signed by Yoko Ono Lennon and released in a limited number by the Lennon Estate. Each print was only offered in an edition of 300, with 25 artists proofs. This print is signed and numbered in pencil in the lower left quadrant, 75/300, Yoko Ono Lennon. There is an embossed signature in the lower right corner, John Lennon, and also John's red chop mark that translates into "like a cloud, beautiful sound". Serigraph on Arches.
